Salim Hossain, a teacher of Muril Light High School in Kahalu Upazila of Bogra, did not return home after coming to join the non-cooperation movement of students demanding the resignation of the government. On August 4, Salim Hossain lost his life in the Satmatha area of ​​Bogra city due to the sharp weapons of BCL-Youth League workers. Salim Hossain's house is in Palikanda village of Bogra Shibganj upazila. He lived with his parents and brothers in Telipukur area of ​​Bogra city. Salim Hossain's younger brother Ujjal Hossain told The Daily Star, 'Brother was not associated with any political party. Never used to go to meetings and marches before. But seeing the scene of indiscriminate firing on the students during the agitation, he could not restrain himself. Bhai used to lie at home and join the movement with the students in the city.' Salim left home at 11 am last August 4. His younger brother Ujjwal also joined the movement that day. Narrating the incident of that day, Ujjwal was saying, 'I came home around 2 pm when I was injured by police tearshells. The students who were with Bhai called around 3:30 pm that he had been stabbed in Satmatha. He died there.''When the police fired tearshells at the protestors in front of the upazila Dak bungalow around 3 pm, they moved away but Salim Bhai took shelter inside the Dak bungalow. Chhatra League and Awami League people who were with the police saw him. They beat him and brought him out and stabbed him. He died there of hemorrhage.' Ujjwal said, 'My brother has a one and a half year old son. He did not stay out even 1 night leaving his son. That brother joined the students' movement by telling lies in my house.' Salim's wife Jasmin Akhtar said, 'My husband could not sleep after the agitation became stronger. Only watched news online. Show me what is the condition of my country. I can't stand them. I want to do something for the students.' In this incident, Selim's father Sikandar Hossain filed a murder case against Sheikh Hasina, Obaidul Quader and 99 other local Awami League leaders and activists at Bogra Sadar police station on July 16.
